There are times when you are being treated for something medically where you need some extra help to aid in your recovery. Since the medical aspect might already be taken care of, many people turn to alternative medicine to compliment their healing. Alternative healing is the name for methods of healing the body without medication such as massage, acupuncture, and chiropractic care. A lesser known alternative medicine that has been growing in popularity lately is known as reflexology or “zone” therapy.

Reflexology starts by dividing different parts of your body into zones. For example your left foot has zones which connect to organs on your left side. When pressure is applied to these zones it then promotes healing in the corresponding organs. This is done to free blockages in energy fields that prevent our bodies from healing properly.

Some ailments that people have sought out reflexology for help with are cancer, asthma, anxiety, and headaches. Reflexology should not be viewed as a cure for any these ailments. A concern of medical professionals is that patients will seek cures in reflexology without seeking medical attention until it is too late. Reflexology should be used as an aid in the improvement of your health after medical attention has been sought.

If you are interested in Portland Reflexology be sure to find an experienced professional. A professional can help the process by figuring out the best way to accomplish what you wish to be done in the session. They can also suggest other alternative medicines to aid in your recovery.
